Perspective | Compute, like electricity: Qovane Group's view of compute

Electricity changed the world not through the generator but through a grid that let everyone draw power on demand. Qovane Group aims to build that kind of network for compute in the AI era.

More than a century ago, a factory that wanted electricity often had to build its own power plant. Only when the grid arrived did power turn from an expensive asset owned by a few into a shared capability anyone could draw on and pay for by use. What changed the world was not the generator itself, but the network that connected supply to demand.

AI compute is at a similar stage today.

The "build your own power plant" era of compute

Many companies that want to develop AI stall at the first step: compute. High-end GPUs take time and money to procure; building a facility means solving power, cooling, networking and operations; and even once it is built, demand rises and falls, leaving capacity idle.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the world where power and land cost less, data center capacity is being built quickly — but lacks a stable, compliant way to reach the companies that need it.

On one side, companies that cannot get compute; on the other, capacity that cannot find buyers. We see this as the largest structural opportunity in the industry.

Our vision

Qovane Group's vision is to be the cross-border compute operator connecting global compute supply with AI demand, so that businesses can draw on high-performance AI compute on demand, as easily as water or power.

Around that vision, the Group has built four mutually reinforcing lines of business:

  • Compute and cloud: measured in GPU-hours and offered on demand, by reservation or under wholesale contracts
  • AI software: turning compute into fine-tuning, inference deployment and generation APIs
  • Qovane Studios: producing AI comic-dramas and animated shorts on our own capacity, absorbing idle hours
  • Hardware supply: completing the supply chain for servers, GPUs and facility equipment through authorised channels

Four principles we hold to

First, compute is a service, not an investment. We sell only usage- or term-based services, priced in US dollars and delivered under contract. We do not sell compute "shares", promise returns or settle in cryptocurrency.

Second, compliance before scale. The hardest part of cross-border compute is not the technology but the rules. We designed the business to stay out of high-risk models, and we verify identity, screen restricted parties and review end use for customers and partners alike.

Third, distributed supply that spreads risk. From our New York headquarters, the Group's supply network brings together a long-term signed supply partner in Libya, North Africa, several computing clusters in Xinjiang, China, and data centers across the United States — never staking capacity on a single location.

Fourth, every GPU-hour has somewhere to go. Customer demand rises and falls; idle hours are absorbed by the Group's content and software businesses, raising utilisation and lowering cost — to the benefit of our customers.

Built for the long term

The electricity grid took decades to build, and a compute network demands the same patience. We are not chasing short-term scale; we intend to build supply, scheduling, compliance and service on solid ground, step by step.

When using AI compute one day feels as natural as switching on a light, we believe Qovane Group will be part of the network that made it possible.
