We are often asked why a compute operator also makes AI comic-dramas and animated shorts. To many people, infrastructure and content are entirely different industries. In Qovane Group's strategy, they are two ends of the same value chain.
The built-in problem of compute: utilisation
GPU clusters are heavy assets. Power, rack space and depreciation keep costing money whether or not a customer is using the capacity. Customer demand, meanwhile, rises and falls: training jobs cluster at certain times, inference traffic follows the business cycle, and there are gaps between projects.
For any compute operator, making sure every GPU-hour has somewhere to go is a central question. Adding customers only partly solves it. The real answer is an in-house business that can absorb idle capacity flexibly.
Content production is the ideal capacity absorber
Generative AI has fundamentally changed how animation and short drama are made. Storyboards, characters, colour, voice and rendering can all be driven by compute, and many of those tasks, especially batch generation and rendering, have no real-time deadline.
That means Qovane Studios can schedule its production on the group's idle hours:
- When customer demand is high, capacity goes to customer delivery first.
- When demand eases, content production fills the gap and lifts overall utilisation.
- The studio runs on in-house compute, so costs stay predictable and output scales with capacity.
From compute to IP: building lasting assets
Compute services are billed by the hour and generate steady cash flow. Content, once made, becomes an asset that can be distributed, licensed and extended again and again. Characters, stories and series keep creating value across platforms and regions.
The result is a clear chain: compute → content → IP. Compute gives content its infrastructure, content absorbs compute capacity, and IP builds long-term value for the group that in turn funds more capacity.
The discipline behind the loop
Running two businesses side by side demands clear boundaries. We hold to three principles:
- Customers first: content production never takes capacity that customers have contracted.
- Data separation: customer data is kept entirely apart from content production and is never used to train our models.
- Clear rights: all material, voices and likenesses used in content must be properly licensed, and AI-generated content is labelled according to platform rules.
The long-term value of integration
We believe future competition in AI will not be won at a single layer, but on efficiency from the compute underneath to the applications on top. Qovane Group builds across compute and content precisely to create synergies along that chain that are hard to replicate.
